What is Nixon maxing? Well, the younger generation is promoting a resurgence of, you guessed it, Richard Nixon. And it's actually great. There's a lot of things in common that Richard Nixon has with President Trump. Did you know they talked quite a bit? Really interesting stuff. RFK is cutting some federal funding to California and Mogadishu, or, sorry, Minnesota, over a bunch of the fraud allegations. The Bidens lose a big court appeal. Joe Biden may have some things leak out to the world that he really doesn't want you to hear. The Loch Ness monsters also in the news. And in about 30 minutes, we're going to cut to the Charlie Kirk show team in their coverage in the Arizona primaries. So much to get to. My name is Joe. Bob, thanks so much for tuning in. The show starts right now. I actually did not know this, but in the late 90s, towards the end of Richard Nixon's life, President Trump and Richard Nixon actually wrote a bunch of letters to each other, corresponded over letter, which is like an email that you would write out on paper. Really interesting things going on there between the former president and the current President Nixon and Trump really, really interested in this whole Nixon maxing thing that the youth is getting involved in. Want to bring you a little bit of a deep dive into that for the time that we have. But before we do any of that, I gotta tell you about this. I'm a big supplements guy. I just. I just am. I take supplements because you want to be healthy, you want to be on the move. You want to be active. You want your brain to be functioning on all cylinders, firing all the time, which is very important to me specifically doing this show. But I feel like supplements, they're like all about the flavor. Ooh, this, this is a cool little flavor. This is a cool little thing. And if that's the priority, you start to wonder like, well, does it work? Like I'm actually absorbing any of this. I kind of was always skeptical about that until I found out about Live On Labs that actually uses what's called lipospheric absorption. Use the liposphere encapsulation that you put into your drink. And it's, it's unlike any other supplement I've ever taken. Usually like these powder that market. Ooh, this tastes like oranges or raspberries. Not Live On. Can we pull up that little graphic here just to show people what it's actually like? It's actually a gel that you put in. And this is not a disparagement at all. It actually, I think is a good thing, in my opinion. It doesn't taste great, it doesn't taste bad, but it doesn't have like this, ooh, this is a fruity thing. Which means they prioritize what you actually want to be prioritized, which is absorption of the vitamins. You don't want to just drink some fruity flavored whatever, and now it's gone, it's away in the toilet. You want your body to absorb it all, which is what Live on does. Live on products are incredible. I've got the vitamin C right here. This is the cult classic favorite that you're going to want also too. I mean, there's a bunch of great supplements they've got, but also the magnesium. Big fan of sleep. Sleep is the most important drug that you can take and how you better your sleep. You take magnesium before bed and the lipospheric absorption again is the best way to do it. So. So liveon labs.com actually you get a 15% discount if you watch this show. J o B O B 15jobob15 is the coupon code. Go to liveonlabs.com 15% off of your entire order when you use the code JoeBob15. That again is J O B O B 151 5. 15% off your entire order. Actually get some supplements that your body absorbs as opposed to just, you know, secretes, I don't know, not a better term, but absorb the vitamins, absorb the nutrition, absorb the minerals, absorb the supplements that you pay for liveonlabs.com j o b o b 15. Okay, Nixon maxing. What is it? Interestingly enough, the Nixon foundation has been planning this sort of thing for a really, really long time. They're trying to in a way rehabilitate Nixon's image. Because, look, Watergate, not the best period in American history, but at the same time, relative to the political scandals that we have now, I don't think Watergate happening now would get somebody to resign. Think about like, I don't know if like a president taps the phones of an incumbent president or incoming president, a candidate for president, I, I feel like that wouldn't get that president to resign. Obviously I'm thinking of Barack Obama tapping President Trump's phone. But, but you see what I'm saying is that Watergate now I'm not sure would be as big of a story. If you get past Watergate and into what Nixon did and the guy, the kind of guy that he was, it actually gets really interesting. And a part of that is the Nixon foundation campaign for the resurgence of Richard Nixon in like this new online Gen Z form. I want to play you this Instagram, Twitter, social media video clip that the Nixon foundation put out just to kind of give you an idea of how they're playing in the, to the online social media culture to kind of revitalize the Nixon name. This is cut 15.
I hate when guys say I am
him because who is him, honestly? Matter of fact, can I meet him? Because I don't know who the you're talking about. Okay, so that might have been totally foreign to anything that you've seen or you're hyper on social media. And that's the sort of thing you see all the time. That's like very much like a tick tock Instagram trend. And rather than putting in like the cool pop star of the day, it's Richard Nixon. And interestingly enough, this has gained a ton of traction. And I find myself wondering like why I, I've been a fan of Richard Nixon for a long time, but I think that's geographically related. I grew up not that far from his library and I've been to it a number of times. That's probably just like a geographic thing. It just happened to live near the Nixon Foundation Presidential Library. But when you really look into it, when you really try to understand the 30,000 foot view, the essence of why Nixon was so successful in his day, and then look to President Trump and go, why is President Trump such a big figure in American politics? You start to see a Lot of really interesting similarities. President Trump's 2024 election victory is seen as one of the greatest political comebacks of all time. And it's really not even close. However, if there is one that's close, it's probably Richard Nixon. If you remember Nixon, what ran in 1960 against President Kennedy, didn't go well. He lost that race. Then he came back and decided to run for governor of California, which kind of sounds somewhat similar to possibly Kamala Harris, but she didn't actually end up running. Nixon did run against governor for the. For the governor of California. He ran against a guy named Pat Brown, who, yes, is Gavin Newsom's grandfather's best friend. But all those points aside, Nixon was not, you know, doing great politically speaking. Ran for president unsuccessful. Ran for governor of his state, unsuccessful. Then in 1968, he pulls off one of the greatest comebacks in American history, political comebacks in American history to the time. Right. Again, I think President Trump in 2024 completely wipes. Doesn't wipe it out, but it makes it so that, yeah, this is actually the greatest political comeback, but at the time, it. It was the greatest political comeback in American history. And the question is why? Why was Richard Nixon such a figure that can pull that sort of thing off? I think one of the reasons is kind of encapsulated by, like, how he corresponded with Donald Trump. Donald Trump started sending letters to Nixon in the late 80s, early 90s, and they corresponded by letter. And one of the letters Nixon wrote to him in 1990, Dear Donald, I know nothing about the intricacies of your business enterprises, but the massive media attack on you puts me in your corner, which just to me just says, okay, so Nixon had that same, just grit drive. Screw you. He effectively was a big middle finger to the establishment, which is what promoted his comeback, but what also makes him very, very similar to President Trump. President Trump embodies this idea of, screw you. This is my country. This is our country. We are taking it back. And that's exactly what Nixon had. And I think it. The. There's so many different rabbit holes I would like to go down, but we just don't have time for it today. Maybe we'll do it a little bit later on. There's a photo of Elvis and Nixon that I really would like to talk about because that story is also fascinating. But just for now, for the time being, I want to play you this clip that the Nixon foundation also put out. And same. The same kind of like social media type vibe. Tell me if you think this is exactly how President Trump thinks about himself as it, as it involves his engagement with the media is cut 16.
Richard Nixon
I am really the most difficult man in the world when it comes to a so called public relations firm. Nobody's going to package me, nobody's going to make me put on an act for television. I'm not going to engage in any gimmicks or any stunts, wear any silly hats, do something for the purpose of getting a publicity picture or the rest. I am not an actor. I'm not a good actor. I'm just going to be myself. And so when people say to me that I've got to change myself, take less about how to stand, how to talk, how to act, look in the mirror, listen to my voice on radio, look at myself on television, the answer is I never have and I'm not going to start now.
Joe Bob
To me, that is why President Trump is such a massive political figure. He doesn't try to pretend to be anything. He just says, I'm President. It's like when he went to Sturgis, like the motorcycle rally and all of the other politicians are like, putting on the, you know, the motorcycle gear and hopping on a Harley, even though they've never touched a motorcycle in their entire life. President Trump shows up in a limousine, says, I don't really like motorcycles. I'm here for the votes. Like, you may think that's crazy politically, but actually people genuinely relate to somebody who's authentically being their true self. That's why I think there's a lot of similarities between Nixon and Trump. That's why I think there's a resurgence of Nixon ism and the whole thing is fascinating and interesting to watch. I got to take a break. TPTPUSA.com is the email address. We'll be back with Ari Hoffman and get to the point after the break before we transition over to the Charlie Kirk Show. We'll be right back. Don't go away.

Do we want. Do we want a party that is old, rich, and out of touch, or do we want a party led by young people like Melot and Zoran? Do we want a party that's led by cowards or a party that's led by true, truly courageous leaders who, when they are voting, ask themselves, well, which special interest is this going to piss off? Because I really don't want AIPAC to spend a million dollars against me in my primary or for Lockheed Martin to not give me my $5,000 corporate back check, but instead ask themselves, what is the right thing to do?
Joe Bob
Okay, so he's kind of a crazy person. We all understand that. I think the thing that I think is funny is the fact that he doesn't know how to give a speech. He should have stopped at courageous leaders, because then you have. Everybody cheered, hooray. But instead he went, are we gonna support courageous leaders who? And then goes on this laundry list of things, and everyone's like, hold on, wait. Do we. Are we. Is he still on the same topic? Where's this is. Are we. Do we cheer after this? When is he done? And then he finishes up and he's like, oh, shoot, I lost everybody. So let me drop an F bomb. Maybe that'll bring this people back in. That's cute. Keep doing your thing, David. I appreciate you and what you do in benefiting the conservative movement, because when we watch people like him, it just makes our job easier. All right, tptvsa.com is the email address. Joe Bob
All right, lots of fun ones today. And with us to break down all of the points is our show favorite, Ari Hoffman, host of the Ari Hoffman Show. It's the host of the Ari Hoffman Show. Is that accurate?
That works for me. That's good.
Cool, Cool. So, Ari, there's a lot of fun ones today, starting off with the Biden administration back in the news. This from the New York Post, the California Post. I don't know how. If you're on the west coast, is the California Post. If you're on the east coast, you're the New York Post. Uh, appeals court rejects Biden's bid to block release of ghost writer recordings used in the special counsel probe. Okay, just to reset this for everybody, Biden does not write his own books, nor do really anybody. Uh, they have a ghostwriter. So the ghostwriter interviews Biden for hours and hours and hours upon end. And there's clearly public interest because our claim has been the entire time. Joe Biden is mentally senile. And these, these tapes would prove it. So Biden tried to sue to stop these recordings from coming out. And Ari, this is the funny part. The Biden team was arguing that these recordings being released would cause irreparable damage to the president, effectively saying, yeah, he's senile and this would be really, really bad for him. Your thoughts on this?
Ari Hoffman
Do you.
Joe Bob
Okay, do you think this gets appealed to a higher court or what? What are your take. What's your take on this?
I think they're gonna keep appealing it and appealing and appealing it because do you remember what happened the last time these recordings came out? The last time these recordings came out, Joe Biden couldn't remember when his son died. That's a horrible, terrible thing that happens in your life. And he couldn't remember when it happened. He couldn't remember basic details of his own life. And if you remember the special prosecutor, when they were investigating this whole mess, they said that Joe Biden wasn't being charged because then it would come off as if he was a senile, well meaning old man. So now what do you think it's gonna be when he thinks it's just him and his ghostwriter sitting in a room? I think it's gonna be infinitely worse than those last recordings. And I think what's going to happen is you're gonna have the ghostwriter prompting him, and then you're really gonna understand why President Trump, with that row of presidential pictures he has on the wall, has an auto pen. Because you're gonna say, this was a few years ago and no way this dude was running the United States.
Well, yeah. And two, I think, feel like the problem is, I think you're right. I think they're just keep appealing, appealing, appealing, and, you know, eventually, you know, everybody involved will be gone and then finally the recordings will come out and then we'll all get to go.
Unknown/Host Laughter
Ha ha.
Joe Bob
See, told you. It'll be 20 years from now and nobody will remember. What do you mean? The guy who didn't remember he was president? I don't remember him. And it unfortunately will be useless as a political battering ram that it could be if these came out sooner than later. But speaking of political battering rams, the federal government looks like it's actually taking to task some of the fraud charges, allegations being thrown at California and Minnesota. Again from the New York Post. California Post, Whatever side of the country you're on. RFK Jr. Yanks Medicaid funds to California and Minnesota says libs opened the floodgates to theft. Now the HHS secretary is stopping about a billion dollars going to California and Mogadishu and, sorry, Minnesota and everybody's all upset about that. His reasoning to me seems fairly sound.
Yeah, well, think about this. Because Homeless Inc. Or any of these medical care facilities that aren't facilities or elderly care facilities or kids with autism who don't have autism, they're getting federal funds. Now, if Minnesota wants to piss away as much state funding, they have to deal with that with their taxpayers. But if they want to do that with federal dollars, they have to be accountable to somebody. And something that the Democrats, they feel so entitled to. Federal funding. How dare, how dare you want federal funding and actually want us to do a few things for it? I mean, Joe, Bob here. I'll share this a little bit too much, perhaps. My synagogue applies for Homeland Security grants even before the Trump administration. During the Trump administration. The hoops they make you jump through, the requirements you have to hit in order to get those funds are very, very stringent. So for me, one of the biggest things about this fraud is how much whoever was applying for those grants has been lying the whole time. Because you have to verify a lot of this, Stu, and you can't verify it. Why the hell are we giving them American taxpayer dollars?
Sorry, Ari, I hate to give you suggestions here, but has your synagogue attempted to have a bunch of illiterate Somalis apply for the grants? I feel like might be easier for you.
Something that we actually joke about all the time at the synagogue is now there is a daycare at the synagogue that's actually open within the last year. And we said if we just pretended to have students, we'd be so much better off because we could have gotten the money so easily. The fact that we actually have students and they actually come and actually check up on all this stuff makes our life very, very difficult.
Yeah, again, yeah. Make believe Somali illiterate foreigners would probably have a better an outcome for you, you know, Ari. Okay, so this is, this is. Actually, I'm, I'm looking forward to your analysis on this because I did a whole thing yesterday of, like, how we should handle, like, the woke side of the lib party versus, like, the sane. Obviously still wrong. But the sane side. There's a lot of back and forth. Bill Maher, Van Jones, a bunch of mainstream libs are coming out saying these socialist people are absolutely freaking nuts. This is like, in this vein. And I'm super curious about your. Take this from Fox News Lib Senate hopeful hopefuls. Pink glove meltdown resurfaces after viral pep talk ignited mockery. Okay, so a bunch of conservatives are making fun of Congresswoman now Congressman Haley Stevens, who's running for Senate in the state of Michigan. Here's the video that's now resurfacing. We've got a couple videos of it, but here's the pink glove video that we're currently making fun of is cut 13 fired.
The gentleman from Maryland is rec. Is reserves. The gentleman from Texas is recognized. The gentleman from Texas is now recognized. The gentle lady from Michigan is out of order.
Okay, so that's one.
Joel Osteen
Let me.
Joe Bob
Before I get your take, Ari, let me play this other one here. This is another one of the videos that conservatives are clearly mocking because. Because obviously it deserves mockery. This is her giving a speech in which she looks like a lunatic. Cut 12.
Unknown/Host Laughter
I am going to be working on our behalf. I am going to be telling the stories on our behalf. And you better believe I'm going to be doing it with a little bit of joy, a little bit of enthusiasm, a little bit of energy, and a little bit of stick it to them. Because that's the Michigan way.
Joe Bob
That's the Michigan way. Okay, Ari, here is the question at hand. Obviously, I would disagree with Congresswoman Stevens on a lot of policy. Obviously, I think she's a clown. Obviously, I think there's a lot of source material to make fun of and mock and ridicule and that. That gives me pleasure. And she's currently running in the lib primary against an even bigger lunatic in Mr. Abdul. Dr. Abdul, who's, you know, an Islamist extreme, in my humble opinion, seems to be an Islamist. And so what do we do here as conservatives? Do we, like, do we try to help the libs by, like, not poking fun at the only reasonable person in the race, or do we take the risk at letting them nominate an Islamist in Michigan and hopefully beat them in the general election? How do we look at this?
You know, I'm sorry, Joe Bob, but you just made me feel a thousand years old. Because I look at that second video and the first thing I go to is Chris Farley and Saturday Night Live van down by the river. That's what I look at when I see that woman eating a steady diet of government cheese, living in a van down by the river. And the fact that most of your audience is on the younger side probably won't get that. But if you put those two side by side, what we have to do is mock these people and show how ridiculous they are, because then nobody takes them seriously. And I'll tell you something, what you get when you keep saying, let's pick the more sane of two insane candidates is the ballot I have sitting in front of me in my studio right now. Seattle's ballots have just come out for this election, and there are six or seven races where there is not one person I can go. This is the better of two bad options because they are all insane. So, for example, Pramila Jayapal, we call her the Democrat from Gaza because she's like, pro Hamas and everything, right? Pramila Jayapal is the sane one in this race because the guy she's running against is a guy who literally describes himself as a neo Nazi, but also picks up every left wing talking point. And that's in the voter's guide. So who are you supposed to pick in that regard? The neo Nazi or the Neo Nazi? I don't know which one to go with. That's the problem where you say which one's the better of two bad options. Unfortunately, you can't really do that anymore because now it's far left Democrat or crazy socialist. What's the difference?
Okay, so, yeah, but this is the primary. So, like, my question is, okay, do you gamble? And, you know, so we can make fun of Congresswoman Stevens all day long. There's lots of material there. But at the same time, let's just say she gets through this primary and then you've got a conservative on the other side. I feel better, right? I feel better knowing that, okay, I really, really dislike her. But at the same time, at least she's not the Islamist in Al Said. Or do you say, okay, we're clearly going to flip this Michigan seat if the Islamianist wins. But again, it's a gamble because if you, if you're wrong, now he's a U.S. senator. Right, like that. That's where I'm confused as to what should we do here.
Yeah, I'm very, very concerned about making either one of these. Look, I would love the Islamianist. Great word. I'm stealing it and giving you no credit whatsoever. The Islamianist. I definitely want to get rid of that guy 1,000%. You get her, you might have a more moderate thing, but then you think to yourself, okay, if they're running against the Islamist, it's a more clear distinction and just making fun of her may not win. I think in this case, obviously, getting rid of the Islamist is the more key thing. But the problem is I can't name who's the Republican running in that race. And most other people can't either. And the problem is, unless you have a clear distinction between who these people are, whoever everybody's talking about, that's who's going to win. Which means all Syed or Chris Farley wannabe, they're the ones who are going to win. Because nobody's talking about who the Republican in this race is.
Yeah, it's a good point. I would imagine that they would start talking about it a little bit later down the road. But I see your point. I think the guy's name is Mike Rogers, which is again, if you're just. If we're just looking at two names, Abdul, Al Said or Mike Rogers. I'm not even going to go with a party preference here. I'm just going to go. Yeah, I think that one of these two candidates has a name that makes me feel less like I'm going to get blown to smithereens. Okay, so without continuing to get in trouble, this is completely innocuous, but I actually am curious on thoughts about this. Loch Ness. The Loch Ness Monster is back in the news. I did not know this. This is from the Northern Times. Loch Ness monster sightings for 2026 now stand at six. Six different individuals have allegedly taken photos of the Loch Ness Monster. A US tourist on a Highland tour bus spies the large dark object breaking the surface in the lock in Great Glen near Iverness, I think. Okay, so I've been hearing about the Loch Ness Monster my entire life, which is, you know, it's been around for a very long time. Obviously everybody's seen the photos. Actually, do we have a photo of the most recent photo? Here we go. Here it is, the high Def. This is 2026 and this is the best photo that we can get of Loch Ness. Okay, Ari, just from a cynical pragmatist capitalist, is there any shot that the people who. The tour guides in the Loch Ness area are continuing to promote this idea that there might be something in there that people. That's just to keep. Just keep people busy coming back to their business to keep tourists coming to see if they can see it. Or is there actually a loch Ness? I. Barry, I want to believe. I just. I want to believe.
So I'll tell you this, and this may cost me my marriage, but we live in the pacific northwest and of course we're known for bigfoot. And if you want to talk about the capitalist approach to bigfoot, my wife has every single thing you can buy in every single trinket shop up on every side of the road While driving in Washington about bigfoot. They believe that squatchy is real. They had a whole TV show about him. They had a whole movie about him. Harry and the Hendersons, all that. And yeah, capitalist might keep this going. And also, people want to believe in something weird, Something that's out there. That's why people love conspiracy theories. If he's actually there, fine. For all we know, it's some prehistoric dinosaur that's left over. We find new things in the rainforest and in the ocean all the time. But yeah, I agree with you from the capitalist perspective. Yeah, you keep selling these kind of things out front, you're going to want people to keep believing it's real. So they will buy your tchotchkas and then they will take them home with them to their kids, and then their kids will believe in this stuff when they go back to try and spot them in the lock.
Do you. Do you know anybody personally who goes out and looks for bigfoot?
Yes. And I will say is that they are more normal than I would expect them to be or you would expect them to be. They seem perfectly normal. Then they'll be like, yeah, this weekend we're going looking for bigfoot. I'm like, you mean you're just going to the woods? And that's, you know, like your way of saying that. And they go, no, we're going to find him. He's there. I'm like, you seem perfectly normal five minutes ago. But okay, sure, you've been in Seattle too long.
There's a. There's a Joe rogan joke from years ago where he talks about him, like, trying to go out and find bigfoot. And he said, you know what you don't see when you're looking for bigfoot? Black people. And there's no reason for me to bring that up. But he did make it a point that this is exclusively a white thing of going out and trying to find bigfoot. Which I decided that was a funny that was a funny joke. No, no need to necessarily include it. But here we are. Ari Hoffman, thanks so much for joining us and dissecting the important stories of the day. Appreciate you taking the time.
Always a pleasure, buddy. Thanks for having me.

But Andrew, go ahead and take it away.

Episode: TURNING POINT TONIGHT, WITH JOBOB | JULY 21ST, 2026
Date: July 22, 2026
Host: Joe Bob
Guest: Ari Hoffman
This episode of "Turning Point Tonight" zeroes in on the cultural and political resurgence of former President Richard Nixon ("Nixon-maxing"), the parallels between Nixon and Donald Trump, and their shared maverick, anti-establishment approaches. The episode then pivots to timely political controversies—Biden’s legal troubles over ghostwriter tapes, federal funding cuts related to fraud in California and Minnesota, as well as a colorful commentary on recent, sometimes bizarre, developments in American cultural and political life.
[01:05–11:00]
“Nixon had that same grit, drive—screw you. He effectively was a big middle finger to the establishment, which is what promoted his comeback, but what also makes him very, very similar to President Trump.”
[10:18] Richard Nixon:
“I am really the most difficult man in the world when it comes to a so-called public relations firm. Nobody's going to package me... I'm not an actor. I'm not a good actor. I'm just going to be myself... I never have and I'm not going to start now.”
