Welcome everybody to the podcast. This is season two, episode 31 from Studio 7H here in Ontario, Canada. On today's episode I have Bill Rountree who has written a book called Aliens Are with Us and it documents his 50 year journey with having multiple contact with aliens. And I also have a few upcoming UFO events that you should know about. One of them is coming up this weekend. Actually two of them are coming up this weekend. So this coming Saturday the Pennsylvania MU Fond is having the 16th annual Pittsburgh UFO Conference and that takes place this Saturday, April 6th from 9am to 8pm There they are having several speakers and there is Bill Burns is going to be there. He was the gentleman that was on UFO Hunters. That was a very, very good show on several years ago. And also Dr. Ray Keller will be there along with several other speakers. And then also this Friday and Saturday, April 5th and 6th is the Edinburgh UFO Festival 2024 and and that's in Edinburgh, Texas and they are having several guest speakers including David Marler, Michael Schratt, Stacey Wright and no Torres. And also Ben Henson will be speaking there as well. So that will be interesting. If you are near Edinburgh, Texas that would be definitely worth going to. And also coming up in September, which is September 27th and 29th is the Shag Harbor UFO Expo and that will be in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. And they are going to have several speakers that include Bryce Zabel, Preston Dennett, who we've interviewed a couple of times on our show, Chris Stiles and Jennifer Stein to mention just a few that will definitely be worth going to. And also it's a beautiful part of Canada as well. And also in case you missed it, I have my blog interview of Robert Hastings who is the guy who wrote UFOs and nukes and also confession that is on my blog and I will leave a link to that in the show notes. So now it's that part of the show where I give my shout out to a small town or city where we have listeners. And this week it is Irmo, South Carolina, which has a population of 11,569 people. And that is right near Lake Murray. Now, Irmo is a little bit different than most of the places that I have looked at because I watched several videos and Irmo doesn't really have a main street. I think they're trying to organize something where they want to make a main street. But I don't think there was any really ever any defined main street in Irma. But it's kind of, you know, sprawled all over the place. But what I saw of it looked very good, for sure. It looked like a really nice part of the US and of course, what would a shout out be if not for a restaurant and a bakery? Because I kind of think in life that's all you need, is a good restaurant and a good bakery. That's really all you need. So fortunately, Irmo has what looks like two really good places that fit the bill. And one is called Matthias, the Matthias Sandwich Shop. And that has been around a long time in Irmo. And they look like they make a lot of good food there. But apparently from reading the website, the Pimento Burger is what you don't want to miss. So definitely, if I'm in Irmo, South Carolina, I'm definitely going to have the Pimento Burger for sure. And there's also a bakery called the Buttercream Queen, and that looks really good. And they make cakes, pies, cookies, and it just has everything on their website that looks like this is a place where you want to have that kind of food. And of course, to wash all of that down, you have to go to Loveland Coffee. And they have quite a video on YouTube explaining their coffee shop. And I would say they are going well above and beyond what most coffee shops do to get you a good cup of coffee. So definitely I would be going there if I'm in Irmo, South Carolina. So that's our shout out today to Irmo, South Carolina. And also on today, we are not going to have a audio excerpt from a book. And we will be right back after this message.

Will we ever find out the mystery behind unidentified flying objects? For over 75 years, the mystery has been just beyond our grasp, showing itself when we least expect it and when we are not prepared for it to enter our lives. Military pilots, astronauts, scientists, police officers and citizens all being faced with the unknown and the unexplained craft of all shapes and sizes. Silently Hovering, turning colors, flying at speeds that are not humanly possible over time. Some of us have witnessed these objects. Some of us have touched these objects. Some of us have been harmed by their unknown energy source. Some of us have been abducted by the beings who can appear from nowhere. Will we ever find out the mystery behind unidentified flying objects? What is going on behind the closed doors of government? Are they hiding the biggest secret? Or is it like a giant puzzle with only a few of the puzzle pieces giving us a glimpse of something we will maybe Captain Edward J. Ruppelt was right. Only time will tell.

My next guest is Bill Rountree. Bill grew up in Atlanta in the 60s. He graduated from university and for the last 25 years he was a senior project manager on large information technology projects for major corporations including Sprint, Coca Cola and many others. Since retiring, Bill has written the book Aliens Are With Us, which describes his 50 year journey of over 100 alien encounters. Bill, welcome to the podcast.
B
Thanks. Good to be here.
A
Before we get started, I just want to read or I just want to mention that I have spoken to Bill before this interview and I have read his book and I just want to say that I believe that Bill believes these events really happen to him. Bill, I wonder if for a brief moment you could take us back to what it was like growing up in Atlanta in the 60s and maybe just talk a little bit about your, your family life then.
B
Okay. Yeah, so it was we lived in a standard suburb, you know, which were, were common back in the 60s, especially places like Atlanta. Right across, grew up right across from the elementary school. So just kind of walk up to the school and had had some friends there would hang out with and play the traditional kick the can kind of games and run around the neighborhood and visit other friends, etc. Went to high school, the same area also that was a drive we could walk with if need be. But you know, it was, you know, I was in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and that type of thing and had a pretty traditional lifestyle. I was a baby of the family, had an older brother, older sister. My mom stayed at home. My dad worked, you know, got jobs in high school and got a car as soon as I was 16 because I couldn't wait to hit the road and go do things. That's all very.
A
So it's, it sounds pretty typical and I should tell my listeners that Bill and I are the same age. So you were, you were probably watching the man from UNCLE and you know, wild, Wild West
B
Bonanza. Yeah, Mission Impossible.
A
I know, I know, Bill. I just to get this going. I wonder if you can. For my listeners, I wonder if you can describe in detail the. The first time you had this encounter and, and how old were you?
B
Well, actually, so when I was like, seven years old, my parents sold a house. We'd grown up in a smaller house. My brother and I shared a bedroom. My sister had a separate room, so my parents moved to a new house. And so I had my own room for the first time. I was about 7 years old, and I saw something in the room, or thought I did, of course, you know, seven years old, you know, you get scared easily. So I got scared and kind of just ran down to my brother's room and. And he had twin beds in his room. So I saw something like when I was about seven years old, you know, but of course I had no idea what it was, and I couldn't see clearly. There were no lights in the room. So I was able to, like, talk my parents and let me sleep in my brother's room for a while. But he was like three or four years older, so, you know, he wasn't ready for me to be there. He wanted. He wanted his own space. So I was about 8 years old and moved back to my bedroom and I. I continued to see something, but I was scared and just kind of like, you know, kept my head covered, kept my head underneath the sheets and, you know, because I. I felt something was there, but nothing I could really, you know, pinpoint. And so I would talk to my dad about it, and he came into the room one night and kind of said, okay, tell me what you see. Is that it? Is that it? You know, kind of thing. Kind of went through things and finally, you know, I said, no, that's not. No, that's not it. Finally I said, okay, maybe that's it, you know, just to kind of end it. And it looked like. It looked like an eagle pointing. So I was kind of like, the joke, you know, you know, Billy's scared of the eagle pointing in his room. And so I kind of. Kind of just let it go and, and kind of dealt with it. Then when I was about. About 10 years old, I saw something pretty clearly. I think there must. Maybe there's a full moon or something. I was kind of hot and hadn't. My head wasn't covered underneath the sheets, which is where I usually slept, because, you know, I didn't want to see whatever was. But I saw something clearly. And so I went to my. Wasn't sure what it was. I just saw something. And so the next day I got a. My mother to give me a night light. And I put it, put it in a good position so I could see that part of the room clearly. And a few months later I woke up and, and saw, you know, the device clearly for the first time. Because the night light did a great job of lighting up my room. And it kind of looked like just a large camera, you know, it's like one and a half, you know, feet tall and like two feet wide. And I had like a retractable arm on it and something that looked like a retractable arm anyway. But it was floating off the ground. It wasn't connected to the ceiling at all. It wasn't connected to the ground. Just kind of floating in the air, just kind of sitting there. And the first time I saw, you know, like that with a night light, I was, I knew whatever it was, wasn't from this world. You know, I was old enough to kind of realize that it wasn't a, wasn't a common thing. And so then, so I just, I
A
just want to stop here. So how, how far away would, would it have been?
B
My room. I had the small room being the baby thing. It was like a 12 by 12 bedroom. It was probably 5ft from my bed, was between my bed and the door and the light switch. So it just kind of hovering there.
A
So that, so that's pretty close. So that definitely when you're seeing something like that, you know, you know it's real. Like it's not like imaginary or.
B
Yeah.
A
Or anything like that. And, and what, what colors was, was pretty, you know.
B
You know, when it's dark, it's kind of hard to discern colors too well. But it was, it was just like maybe like kind of grayish around that. Maybe like a dark gray on the outside part. The center had like what looked like a big lens that was black. So it's pretty, you know, pretty colorless for the most part.
A
And was it shiny like a lens like the.
B
No, I didn't notice any shininess. That's a good question. But it's pretty much like flat colored. You know, I didn't notice any reflection from the night light on or anything. Just it just kind of just hovering there motionless.
A
And from what you could see there were. Did you see any seams or anything that looked human, like screws or, or something where it was mechanically put together?
B
No. That's a good question too, but no, it looked kind of just, just kind of flat and plain. Pretty undistinct, really non distinct, whatever. But it was, yeah, it's fairly plain looking.
A
And when it was hovering there, was there any motion or. It was totally motionless.
B
Totally motionless, yeah. Was. Wasn't budging an inch, wasn't, you know, wavering at all. Just firmly just sitting there doing nothing.
A
And was, was there any sound?
B
No. No sound at all? Nope.
A
So when you, you know, when you had this, when you were 10, you saw this. So now when you're 10, obviously you're looking at something and you realize, okay, this is different. Like this isn't something that's happening all the time.
B
Yeah, I was extremely scared. I was scared to move at all. I just sat totally motionless, staring at it for like, you know, five, 10 minutes, making sure I was awake, you know, making sure what I was seeing. Just kind of just sat and didn't budge an inch. Like I, like I thought I could hide from that, you know.
A
And did you, so how long did that last? How long did that encounter last?
B
It, probably a full 15 minutes. I just kind of sat, stared at, did it didn't do anything at all. It just kind of sat there. And finally I got tired of looking at it, scared. I wanted it to go away. So I jumped up and headed towards the light, which is, it was in between me and the light switch. And so I just kind of reached up, kind of grabbing forward as I headed for the light. As I did, it just kind of slowly like faded away. It kind of looked like it, you know, maybe picked up slightly and just kind of faded at the same time. Like a, you know, a fluid motion of up and fading away at the same time.
A
So like it disappeared.
B
Yeah, exactly. Yep. Right when I reached forward, then I flipped the light on and sat there, you know, with the light on the rest of the night. Sat on the edge of the bed trying to think through what, what was going on, what I saw.
A
Now, did you, did you tell your parents about that? Like when you're a lot more certain that this wasn't like a shadow or, or something like that?
B
Because I'd been teased by my, you know, my older brother and sister. So much for being scared of something in my room. You know, I, I'd already kind of like began to give up at that point. So I didn't. That, that first night I didn't tell anybody. Later on I did, but that first night I didn't tell anybody about it.
A
And have you, have you. I guess you've thought about that a lot over the years. Like, you know, why do you feel other than, you know, people your Family wasn't really believing what you were saying. Why do you feel that you never, you know, came at people stronger with what you were seeing or, like, why did you kind of. Kind of give up?
B
Well, you know, I. I've been ridiculed about it so often before about thinking I saw something, and, you know, I kind of thought I would never see it again. I kind of, you know, the first time I saw it, I thought, well, you know, maybe I did imagine it. You know, maybe whatever it is, if I did see something, I'll never come back. And, you know, there's no reason to say anything. You know, it just kind of, you know, when things happen, sometimes it just happens slowly and you just keep putting up with it, putting up with the next thing you know. It's been 50.
C
Do you.
A
From approximately that time when you were roughly 10 until you were roughly about 19, how many times did you see it and how often would you see it?
B
Well, I. I usually tried not to see anything. I usually, you know, like, always kept, like, the. The sheets over my head so only my eyes were showing. I usually was facing the other direction in bed and tried not to see anything. Tried not to look around and see anything. So who knows how often I was there. But I would see it several times a year, at least not on a regular basis. But, you know, like I said, it's probably there a lot more often than that. I just didn't see it or didn't, you know. Yeah, wasn't looking for it. So.
A
Did you ever, in your teenage years, did you ever think about recording it, like, with a camera or.
B
No, but this was like. This was like, you know, 67, 68, that kind of thing. And, you know. No, I mean, I guess I could have tried to borrow my father's Polaroid or something, you know, and try to take a picture of it. But it's. No, I never really thought about that. I mean, one thing, I kind of didn't want to. I kind of hoped it would stop coming anyway. It's like, maybe I'll never see it again. And then also maybe. Probably part of my thinking was, you know, I didn't want to. I didn't want to make them mad at me, you know, or, you know, try to, like, trick them or anything.
A
Yes. When you. I thought about this. When you saw, when you. The times that you saw the object, the times that it happened, what were. What, like, were you stressed or happy or sad? Like, did it come when you felt a certain way or it just came randomly?
B
No, not at all. I was pretty much, you know, I'm very easygoing person. I was as a kid obviously too. So I mean, you know, and I think that's one reason they kind of kept coming back. Because I'm the type that doesn't freak out if someone came in and said, hey, there's a fire. I said, okay, well we better go, let's get our stuff. You know, I'm not the type to run and scream and panic. And I think that's probably one of the reasons they kept coming back is because I didn't freak out. So I guess to answer your question, you know, my, I don't really. I'm not the type of stress out or, or, you know, my, my childhood, you know, back in those ages especially was pretty, you know, pretty Andy Griffith type.
A
You know, it's pretty, it's pretty simple.
B
Yeah, exactly. Right.
A
I, you know, I thought to myself is. It's kind of like, you know, because I was trying to put my, myself in your position. It would be kind of like having a secret that you couldn't share with anybody because I can kind of get, you know, once you. It's kind of. We, Bill and I talked before the show. I. When I was eight years old, I had seen it, a UFO at very close range. And that's the thing is, you know, you absolutely know that you. This happened. But after a while when you talk to people, certain people would ridicule you or not believe you. So you tended not to bring it up to people. You thought that would be dismissive. And I'm sure it was even more pronounced with you that know, you were aware of what kind of person that you would ever mention this to or, or tended not to do it because you just want. Didn't want to put up with the, the ridicule of it.
B
Yeah, I did kind of. So after I first saw it and realized it was, it was, you know, something not from this world or, you know, this, this time of the world, et cetera, I did kind of mention to my best friend in school at the time and I said, you know, kind of just like, have you ever seen anything in your room at night? And he just started, well, like a ghost, you know, he just kind of started immediately ridiculing me. So I, I dropped it pretty quick with him and said, no, no, I'm just, you know, saw something on TV that died. Wonder if you ever saw anything in your room, you know. So I dropped it pretty quickly because, yeah, I just more ridicule it kind of What?
A
To me, it makes a lot more sense. Like some people, I guess when they read the book or hear about this, they would say, well, why didn't you do A, why didn't you do B? But you know, you're living your life and when something like that happens to you and it just doesn't fit in with the rest of what's going on and you've tried to tell people and not got a very good response, I think with anything in life that you don't keep going to that well. Like, you know, if you're doing something and it doesn't go well for you, you kind of tend to stop.
B
Well, exactly.
A
Stop doing that.
B
Yeah, I, I had a, you know, what I believe was physical visit, you know, a few years later when I was like about 17 years old and try to tell my friends again and this time there's like three of my best friends in the car. I've known them all since I was like, you know, 8 years old or something on 10 years. And they all immediately started ridiculing me kind of. Oh yeah, that's happened to me once. That type thing. Yeah. Just more of the same. So. Just another reason just to keep it to myself.
A
So you mentioned in your book that a few times you felt the object talk to you, like you could hear the voice kind of like maybe coming from inside you or something.
B
Absolutely. 100 sure. They, they spoke to me and, and I just, for some reason you could, I could just tell it was, it was something my other family members wouldn't hear. It just, you know, because it just kind of felt like it was from inside you. And I've read other books, people kind of describe the same way. You immediately know that it's, you know, it's, you know, you know, there's, it's not a, it's not a voice someone else could hear. And they spoke very clearly, said something very specifically and stopped. And that happened when the device was there. And after they finished talking, the device faded away on its own for the first time, which was interesting.
A
Now they, when this spoke to you and it was, it was just twice in all these years that it, it actually spoke and. But it didn't like it kind of, in my opinion, it didn't say anything that you would want it to say, like it wasn't earth shattering, like it wasn't the meaning of life or, you know, what does this all mean? It was kind of more. Less interesting things that, that what it actually said.
B
Yeah, it was pretty vague, but it's Enough to let me know at least that they were, you know, aliens, you know, they were not from this world. And you know, they, they, you know, they kind of said, we left you on the beach thousands of years ago. You humans have, you know, have come a long way since we left on the beach thousands of years ago. That was kind of the first thing they said. And you know, I think, and you know, I've been thinking about that too, about other people, because I've done a lot more research on now that I published my book and read other people's books, etc, but it kind of seems that, that you get. They interact with you in a way that they think you are able to be ready for or understand or want. And I kind of made it clear from day one, I want them to go away and leave me alone. Alone. So I think for that reason they didn't appear before me, you know, and they didn't, they didn't, you know, have conversations with me. Like some people talk about that, conversations with them because I didn't want to. I want them to just go away and leave me al.
A
You know, so, and so you felt that this was kind. Could it have been kind of like telepathy?
B
Yeah, I think. And you know, and that's when I began thinking, okay, if they can talk to me in a telepathic manner, they can undoubtedly read my mind. So that's when I started thinking, okay, you know, they're, you know, they're kind of, they're not, they're observing me. I'm like an experiment, you know,
A
I just want to mention something to our listeners and I think this will make it more understandable is I want to go back to my example of what I saw. Because what you thought and what I thought were actually very similar because the object I saw was, you know, 100ft away, 100 or 200ft in the air. So when I saw it, immediately I knew that it was not anything I'd seen ever before. It was unusual. This was way different, like way off the, way off the charts. And it's kind of what you said, that when you saw the, the object, you just realize right away that, okay, this doesn't fit into our, our normal world.
B
Exactly.
A
And so I can really understand that. Right. Even though mine, my experience wasn't like your experience. But, you know, sometimes you just, just get a, like a gut feeling. You just see something and you go, okay, that is way off the scale of what I have ever seen before or understand in life or.
B
Exactly. Yeah. In my 67 years of experience. I've never seen anything not from this world world except this. But even at age, you know, 11, right away I knew this is not from this world. This is, you know, this is not. This is something different.
A
Now the. You described as a few times where you felt there was aliens physically in. Once. I remember reading it was in your bedroom, but you didn't open your eyes, but you felt something on your bed sheets or if. I wonder if you could describe that.
B
Yeah, so that was. By then I was like 17 years old. My brother and sister were off at college and my mother had remarried to someone in Connecticut. So she was just back and forth part time. And so. So I was in the house alone and I woke up hearing something that sounded like something being drug across the bed sheets, like, you know, a strap or something or a device or something that woke me up. But instantly I tried to open my eyes, but I couldn't. It was like a vibrating force keeping me, you know, from. From moving. Same thing. Anytime I tried to make any sort of movement, like move my arms, it was the same thing. It wasn't like a painful electric shock. It was just. It was just, you know, kind of like a vibrating force just holding me. Any, any movement I attempted to make, whether it's open my eyes and move my arms or legs, I couldn't do anything. I didn't feel anything other than that, that is, I didn't feel like they were touching me other than that is just, you know, that inability to move. And it lasted, you know, at least 10 minutes. You know, I had no idea how, you know, how long exactly, because I couldn't like look at a clock or anything. And then all of a sudden it stopped. I was instantly able to open my eyes and move and I just jumped out of bed instantly. So I went from that, from a long period to just jumping out of bed.
A
And there was one time that. Or you can tell me if it was more than once, but I think I seem to remember it was once that this happened during the daytime. That you saw the object?
B
Yeah, I saw the object during the daytime. It wasn't like the physical visit, but one morning I was just sitting there kind of laying in bed. You know, I was sitting bolt upright, you know, kind of hands behind my head, thinking about, okay, what am I going to do today? I was going to meet up with some friends later and looked over and saw it. And in the daytime, that was like the first time I saw in the daytime.
A
And did it look any different or did you feel about it any differently?
B
No, it. Yeah. I mean, even though it was more light to see it clearly, it looked the same. It was. It was kind of unchanged. But that was the first time it left on its own, too, which is interesting, but as soon as I kind of look. Turned around, looked at it, and slowly faded away.
A
Also, you have been married a few times, and I wanted to ask you, do you think that having this secret and I. In the book, you're pretty open about it, that you were. You would try to wake your wife up at the time to see it, and for some reason they never would. But do you think that this secret that you just couldn't tell, do you think that had any, you know, significance and maybe how your marriage has ended because you couldn't totally be totally honest about what was happening to you?
B
Well, I never thought about that way that that may have had something to do with. Yeah, I don't know. For some reason I'm, you know, I'm way more adventurous than other people. So I think that had, you know, a part to do with maybe more than just the secret. I just, like, always had this yearning to go do things, explore places, you know, like, not grass is green on the other side, which my brother says that's why the way I. But just a year to go do things and, you know, most things I like to go do, a woman wouldn't really want to go with me anyway. So I, you know, it's just a combination. But that. That may certainly play into it also, just having. Having something like that I couldn't share with them or, you know, having to have a secret. But. Yeah, so. So when they did visit when. When I was, you know, had, you know, a woman in bed with me, I would look over and see the device and should be sleeping, and I'd kind of like, you know, nudge her a little bit to try to wake her up and, you know, she just kind of mumble away a little bit. And then, you know, I would do something like a loud. I'm sorry, a loud cough and a push at the same time and kind of shove them and then wake up, go, what.
C
What.
B
What do you want? What are you doing? And then right then the device would just kind of fade away. So, you know, I think, you know, this sounds funny to people maybe, but if you think about it, clearly, aliens, you know, people that like me, who. Who know aliens are visiting Earth, they're. They're keeping away from us as much as possible. You know, they're trying to. Trying to not let it be, you know, let them be known that they're here. So it kind of plays into that in my idea, you know, in my mind rather that they just didn't want someone else to see them and have more evidence that, you know, what, what's going on with me is, is true and aliens are visiting. But that happened every time I tried that they would slowly fade away once they were waking up. And then I'd have to say, I'm sorry, I must have been something.
A
Do you, you mentioned in the book that you, even now, you haven't told very many people that. Have you ever felt the urge to tell any of your former wives? What?
B
No, not really. They, if I did, you know, they may say, oh, I remember that, you know, I remember you doing that several times or something like that. But I, I really haven't felt any urge to tell them. It's just, it's just so difficult to tell people, you know, like, you know, as you just said, I've only told a couple of family members and, you know, I thought, okay, if, you know, if it ever gets out, they find out about, that's fine. But I just, you know, it's just difficult to talk about.
A
Do you, in the book, you, you know, you have moved and traveled to several different parts of the US and you had homes in several different parts of the US I thought about this when I've read other cases similar to this. Do you ever think now or have you ever had the thought that maybe you were being kind of manipulated to move to a certain area so it would be easier or more convenient to be looked at or watched? Did you ever think of that?
B
Yeah, I, I definitely think, you know, that they may, they may be manipulating me, you know, like planning thoughts in my mind or something, you know, like that type of thing. And actually, you know, the second time they spoke to me, my son had moved to California and he and I are very close and my, my wife, his mother had passed away and former wife, his mother had passed away and he moved to California. And you know, I was visiting him once and, and I saw the device during the day. I was just kind of just sitting on the sofa and looked over and there it was. It was like 9:00 in the morning, you know, gotten up and gone to the bathroom, kind of figuring out what I was going to do that day. And there was advice and they said, you know, now that you're living in California, we won't visit you anymore. And it, it faded away on its own again. And I, you know, that was. I was like, what the heck is that supposed to mean? Why would they say that? Then I started thinking, well, maybe, you know, maybe they're, you know, they're saving or, you know, maybe they're saying that because now I'm going to be safe because the east coast is getting ready to be bombed or something, a terrorist attack. And. And then the more I thought about and the other things that happened later in my life is like, okay, I think it was. They wanted me there. Whoever, like my guardian angel is, you know, maybe, you know, maybe we have a guardian angel that follows us. You know, a soul we were connected to in the path of, in the past that follows us and, you know, stays with us and helps us, etc. And my guardian angel wanted me to be in California to kind of support our son moving out there. Of course, our son, meaning, you know, I think my former wife was involved with it. Her spirit, you know, her soul, that type of thing. So. Which is why I kind of get into my book talking about the relationship that I think aliens have with our guardian angels and reincarnation and that type of thing. So I think, yeah, maybe, you know, maybe. Maybe I was somewhat manipulated or coerced into going that direction.
A
Is this. When you look back on things, is this the only strange thing that has ever happened to you? Or are there other kind of things that are maybe equally as strange?
B
Well, there's other visits they did. But as far as something that's not. Well, I mean, yeah, I mean, well, like at one point when I was like 20 years old, I. I was driving, driving with a friend down the road. And, you know, he. He had this dumb game he liked to do, and he kind of get the steering wheel and kind of yank it back and forth as you were driving. You know, it was an empty road, but still, either he yanked too far or I. I grabbed it out of his hand trying to stop him. One way or another. The car started flipping and it. It rolled over. The policeman said, you know, it was at least three times that it rolled over. It was just like, you know, rolling on a side over and over again. The car was smashed, you know, flat as a pancake. And the whole time I was inside, he kind of said the same thing. Felt like I was in a bubble, you know, like, like suspended in midair. And we had to. The car ended up upside down. We had to, like, kick the doors open to get out of it. And neither one of us had any bruises. He did have a scratch on his forehead. I'M not sure how he got that. Maybe was getting out of the car, but I didn't even have a bruise, nothing, you know, and the police came and said the last car they saw like that the people inside were dead on arrival and dead instantly from the accident. And I was unscathed, you know, and that's another. That's at one point when I felt like, you know, my guardian angels were looking over me. So that type of thing has happened. But I guess I kind of relate a lot of those to the guardian angel slash, you know, some sort of alien involvement, at least in my mind. And there's other visits certainly I've had.
A
Do you. Have you ever seen a ufo?
B
No, I haven't. I saw tracks of an alien visit once, you know, but. And I actually took pictures of that and a video of that because that was just a few years ago. So, you know, that was easy to record.
A
And then you have a picture of that in your. In your book as well.
B
Yeah, yeah, that was. That was an interesting experience. I was in my house in the mountains in California, and there was a lot of snow that night and kind of woke up hearing something on the roof that, you know, I was sure it was something walking the roof. I mean, I spent the night in that house a hundred times with snow. So I know the sounds of snow shifting, etc. You know, that type of thing. But this was. I was, you know, 99 sure it was something walking on the roof. And I was like, freaked out, laying there, scared to move. I heard it for like 20 minutes and then it stopped. And so then once the sun came up, I got out, got up and walked outside. There was, you know, the fresh snow on the ground. But these tracks that are like, you know, they're like 2 inches wide, 14 inches long, they start or stop in the middle of the yard and go to my house. So, you know, I've never seen any animal tracks like that. And I have a real mountain man kind of friend who does hunting and that type of thing. And he says. He said he knows of no animal that can make that track. He said maybe it was a bird of prey grabbing a squirrel or something and like dropping his, you know, every, you know, in a. In a little bipedal pattern, which next to impossible, but he goes, that's real unlikely. He said the only thing I could say, think would maybe be an alien. And he kind of laughed it off. He didn't know anything about my book or my experiences, which I thought was interesting, but very strange. So that was like. And that, you know, I've got my book broken in two sections. What I know and what I believe. And that's in the what I believe section. Because, you know, it, it could be something else. I'm like 99, sure is a alien visit. But, you know, I didn't see the device like I did in the other ones. So
A
I have, I'm going to combine two questions here because I think they're kind of appropriate for each other is, you know, why did you decide to write this book? And also combined with that, looking back on it now over all these years, what do you think it all means? Like, what do you think the meaning of all this is?
B
Well, as far as why I decided to ride it, it's. I, I had retired a few years ago and so I wasn't so worried about any repercussions from jobs because I had some pretty, you know, high profile jobs and, you know, probably wouldn't have gotten them if I had already written this book, to tell the truth, you know, because I was leading some big projects for some big companies and, you know, that could have played negatively against me. Excuse me. So that's one reason I thought, okay, I'm gonna go ahead and do it. And then secondly, you know, as you get older, you just, you just care less what people think.
A
That's right, yes. It's definitely not, Definitely not as important.
B
Exactly. And I just kind of wanted to get off my chest. I was tired of it being a secret. I was tired of hiding about it, you know, and, and more and more people are coming forward. And so, you know, if I'd written it 30 years ago, I really would have been ridiculed. But, you know, so I'm, you know, being somewhat ridiculed now. But that's okay. But I'm just tired of keeping a secret.
A
So to me, this lends highly to your credibility because, you know, as you, when you read the book and your biography or your bio, you're like a very successful person. So you don't need this to make money or anything like that. And actually, if anything, this could be, you know, detrimental to you socially because people might, that, you know, might think of you differently in a way that maybe they don't want to know you anymore or something.
B
Absolutely. Which is why, you know, several times a week I think about unpublishing. I had a girl. You know, I'm on dating sites. I had a girl, you know, once we, once I called and we talked, she, you know, she looked up my name and she Found it immediately it popped up and after about 30 minute conversation, she brought it up. And, you know, I could tell she wasn't too happy about it because she was very religious person.
A
Oh, yes. Yeah.
B
But what was interesting was she talked about, and I think was one reason she wanted to go ahead and talk to me because she said she has what she calls her angels that visit her in her bedroom all the time. And she said they're about 4ft tall as my angel. And I said, kind of sounds like an alien to me. Which she did not like, of course. So, I mean, yeah, it's definitely, definitely impacted my social life negatively, but, you know, it's also helped some people. I've, as part of this, I created a website with, with kind of like a forum on it for people that, you know, have experiences so they can talk to other people that have had experiences, you know, because no one else really understands except other people have had these kind of experiences, you know, and I've had some people reach out to me and, you know, they thanked me for writing the book and, you know, for talking to them on the forum about it. And at least it helped a few people so far. Maybe it'll help more in the future.
A
But I know this is the, this is the area of ufology that is just so difficult. Right. Because I, you know, I feel like I have built in. There's something I've had my whole life is a pretty good BS meter built in. So when I talk to people, not just about UFO stuff, but just anything in general, I know pretty quickly whether this is a load of, you know, not anything truthful or not. And definitely after reading your book and talking to you, this is our second time talking now, it, you know, I just don't have any of those feelings. I absolutely feel that you're, that you're genuine, you know, so it is. And there are a lot of people who have had experiences similar to, to what you have had. So there was the, the Harvard psychologist John Mack, who's no longer with us, but you know, he wrote books on it, people having these experiences, and he held himself up to a lot of ridicule from his peers for, for even thinking of this. Right. So, yeah, I kind of commend you for, for doing this because it could not have been easy. But it definitely adds to, you know, the, the history of whatever this means. Like it's just one more, one more piece of the puzzle.
B
Yeah, well, it's funny along those lines, I mean, you know, because I think, okay, you know what Are my grandkids gonna think of me? This is gonna be my legacy unless I unpublish.
A
That's right.
B
But what are my grandkids gonna think of it then? I think, well, you know, I guarantee you in 10 or 20 years, the governments are finally going to admit, okay, you know, they've been visiting us for 50 years, blah, blah, blah. I think it's finally going to come out at some point, and they'll look back and say, wow, he's one of the early ones to come out and talk about it, you know.
A
So the one thing I'm dying to ask you is, since you've published the book, have you had any more experiences?
B
No, I haven't. Which I think is interesting. Yeah. When they came to me in 2016, they said, you know, now that you're living in California, we won't visit you anymore. But then I had those tracks in the snow. I had what I thought was an abduction, you know, when I was living in California. So I wonder. They said they weren't going to come visit me anymore. But then again, I haven't seen that device. So maybe, you know, maybe it's, you know, different groups. Maybe, you know, they was. They were referring to themselves, the Observers versus, you know, other people or other aliens, rather. So I thought that was interesting, but I have not had any more. I've had some strange dreams, but that's totally different. Dreams are. Dreams are totally different. You know, it's not like waking up and seeing something so many times. So I don't, you know, I haven't had any more visits besides the. The couple in my cabin in the mountains in California. So.
A
So is this the longest period of time that you haven't had a visit?
B
Yeah, definitely has. It's been three years.
A
Oh.
B
Yeah.
A
So maybe what they said the last time they talked was they meant it for. For real that we. We would be visiting you anymore.
B
Well, you know, along those lines. It's funny. So I've read some, what, other people's, you know, books. Like I said, since I've published mine, I've been reading more of it and just, you know, it's interesting, etc, but it seemed like if you're open to them visiting. Visiting you, they will. So sometimes I think, you know, maybe I'll just, you know, kind of like, ask them, let me know if you want me to publish this book, you know, because maybe they do. Maybe I'm being manipulated to publish the book to kind of help, you know, pave the way for them finally being able to reveal themselves to us, you know, so it's all, you know, it's all a little. Makes you wonder.
A
It does, it does. I, it's, you know, that's exactly what you just mentioned. That's a question I posed to Robert Hastings. I said, for the people who are having these experiences and writing about them, do you know, is it possible that they're being. People are being manipulated? Because the more and more people that talk about makes it more, I don't want to use the word normal, but, you know, more acceptable. Whereas, you know, 50 years ago then you people would have thought differently of you for sure about talking about these things out loud.
B
Yeah, maybe, you know, I kind of talk about in the book too, as far as, you know, some people think the aliens have a. Have an agreement with governments around the world, you know, not to reveal the themselves. And, you know, maybe, you know, maybe, maybe they're getting closer to time to be, you know, revealed to us all. So maybe this is part of it, having people like me and others, you know, come forward, manipulating us, as you say, to come forward and talk about it.
A
Before we wrap this up, I just want to mention that I'm going to put a link to Bill's website and it also on his website, he has a place where people who have had similar experiences, they can chat about it and not have any fear of ridicule or anything like that. And also I will put a link to where you can buy Bill's book, Aliens are with Us. And Bill, I just want to really thank you for being on the show today. It, you know, because people are in your position, it's. It takes a bit of courage to come out and, and say this to the world. So I really appreciate you taking that step to tell it to my listeners.
B
Well, thanks, Mike, for interviewing me and you've got me more in the don't unpublish mindset because I think it's good to get this information out there, you know, for people to know what's going on. So thanks for interviewing me.

Here are the Canadian civil aviation anomalies for the week of March 25 through March 29, 2024. On March 25, the Colleen's Regional, county, municipality police were called after receiving a complaint from a citizen reporting that an aircraft was flying over their house at low altitude while shutting off the engine several times to conduct training maneuvers. Also reported, on March 25, a Canadian helicopter's Bell 206L flying from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, was inbound to land at CYZF at 1 nautical mile northwest of the field. C GNZR declared pan pan and advised they would be landing on a nearby lake. C GNZ NZR advised the tower they had landed safely off the field at 19:30 Zulu time. On March 27, TSB reported an Air Canada Boeing 777 333er was operating as flight AC1 flying from Toronto, Ontario to Haneda Airport, Tokyo, Japan. Due to severe turbulence on Planned Airways way, the crew requested a lower flight level from atc. ATC was unable to accommodate request due to traffic. Pan Pan was declared and special procedures for inflight contingencies in oceanic airspace. After procedure and flight level change was complete, a new clearance from ATC was received and Pan Pan was was cancelled. Aircraft landed at RJTT safely. Finally, on March 28, the Vulcan Alberta Airport was closed due to snow. This was the logical thing to do. Notam was issued, there was no impact in operations and all flights proceeded to their destinations without further incident.

Well, that's our podcast for this week and I wonder if you can do me a favor for everyone that's still here listening at the end of the show. If you can leave a positive review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to UFO Talker. Because that definitely helps with our algorithm with getting the show bumped up higher and higher. Some more and more people can see it and of course we just like reading the good reviews as well, I have to admit. So, and until next time, this is Michael Ryan. Keep watching the skies.

“After I first saw it and realized... I did kind of mention to my best friend and he immediately started ridiculing me... So I dropped it pretty quickly.” (21:49) “I had a physical visit... when I was about 17... tried to tell my friends again... and they all immediately started ridiculing me.” (23:05)
“Never really thought about that... I kind of hoped it would stop coming anyway... I didn’t want to make them mad at me.” (19:02)
“Absolutely, 100% sure they spoke to me... It just felt like it was from inside you. Not a voice someone else could hear.” (23:45)

The conversation is candid, empathetic, and non-sensational, with the host and guest both acknowledging the personal risks of disclosure and the genuine confusion such experiences provoke. Bill’s tone is modest, sometimes humorous, and keenly self-aware, with frequent reflections on how his life and relationships have been shaped by the persistent, unusual secret he’s carried.
Bill Rountree’s lifelong account of nighttime visitations, as recounted on UFO Talker, offers a deeply personal lens into the psychological, social, and existential consequences of enduring, anomalous experiences. His honesty, self-questioning, and grounded approach make his story a compelling contribution to contemporary UFO narratives, as well as a touchpoint for others grappling with the “outsider” status that often accompanies such claims.
