And on today's episode, I have an interview with a woman from Northern Maine who, along with her sister, had two incredible UFO encounters. Both of these involved missing time. And it's very. They're very, very interesting. Oh, I hope everybody out there has their nice warm cup of coffee. My coffee today is Irish cream coffee. And it has always made me wonder, how do they get the flavor in coffee? Like, do they put it on the bean? How does that work? I've always been mystified.

B

That is a good question. I've always wondered that myself. Now you're saying you're actually having Irish cream flavored coffee or you have Irish cream in your coffee like Bailey's?

A

No, I have. I am always sober for this show, believe it or not, ladies and gentlemen, but I am having Irish cream flavored coffee.

Well, nothing right now because I'm in the middle of the month of birthday, as my friends call it, where you celebrate your birthday for the entire month. So I will be going out and drinking a lot of wine in the next couple of weeks.

That's right. And luckily I have a lot of friends who love to go out for dinner and Regina has some amazing restaurants. I mean, hey, I could do a whole podcast on Regina restaurants. They're so great.

Now, besides being your birthday. A couple of days ago we had a major snowstorm in southern Ontario. And I don't know about anybody else who lives in a cold climate, but I have just had it to here with, with snow. I mean, normally in southern Ontario if you get 5 centimeters, which is a few inches, that's enough. And everyone complains and it's just terrible. So a few days ago we got, oh, I'm going to say it was 14 inches of snow all in about 10 or 12 hours. Yep. It was not pleasant by any stretch of the imagination.

And Halifax, the Maritimes are getting hit pretty hard with the same system, I believe.

A

Yes. I think a few days ago they were there, had power outages. It was all terrible. And I have the bonus because I have relatives that live in Sydney, Australia and they have been texting me about, oh, it's so hot here. It's 44 Celsius. I thank God we have AC. And I'm thinking, wow, okay, trust me, I would take 44 Celsius any day, any day of the week over this. Trust me, you don't want to. And snow, blowing snow. Wow. You haven't really experienced life until you've done that. So now I have a couple of UFO conferences and events to mention. And the first one is something called the UAP Con. And it is going to be a virtual meeting. So anywhere in the world that you want to click into this, you can. It is going to be held on January 25th from 10am to 2pm Pacific Standard Time here in North America. And the speakers are going to be, or the moderators, Alan Steinfeld. And some of the guest speakers are going to be Whitley Strieber, Thomas Brophy, Kimberly Engels, Paul Hynek, who we have interviewed on this show. And Dr. Tara and I actually kind of looked that up because it never shows what her first name is. So she's just going by Dr. Tara. You know, it's kind of like Cher.

Yeah, like Cher. She needs no introduction.

I know it's Dr. Tara. Everybody knows in the house. And I'm going to put a link to that show because there is a lot of information on there. I thought about reading about what it kind of is and what they're going to do, but trust me, you have to read it. It's. It goes on for quite a while, but it looks interesting. And I haven't heard of this one before. Now, the second show, this one we have done last year, and this is going to be the 38th annual Ozark Mountain UFO Conference is going to be held from April 10th through the 12th in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Lovely.

Yes. And it. Everyone that I see talk about Eureka Springs. They say it's a lovely, lovely town. And they have some fairly big speakers at this event and they're going to have Nick Pope, Stephen Bassett, Samuel Chong, Mark d', Antonio, he's from MUFON and several others. And of course, I'll put a link to that site as well. That one I believe you have to register and it does cost money and I think you can only go there in person. I don't think it has a virtual element to it. And so now we have a bit of UFO news that we want to get into. And the first one that we're going to talk about is some news from Vermont and legislator, Representative Troy Hedrick has introduced a bill into the Vermont legislature. And this bill, if it gets passed, is going to start a 10 member panel that would look into all UFO reports in Vermont and they would discuss them, maybe they might even investigate them and certainly keep track of them. And this bill is called the Vermont Airspace Safety and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force. And it is interesting. I've seen several places talk about this bill, but mainly in the news they're talking about it like it's passed. So it actually hasn't been passed yet. No, Troy has just brought it up.

B

Yeah. And Representative Hedrick also said he introduced the legislation on behalf of a constituent lobbyist, Maggie Lenz, and he said he does at times does so whether he supports the bill or not, because lawmakers should help constituents get issues they care about before the legislature. He said he was not yet prepared to speak to or support the bill. So we don't, we don't know the status yet.

A

I know, and I think it's always in bad form to say, I'm bringing this bill to the floor because a lobbyist told me to. If I don't think Troy has read from the manual where you don't actually mention that part.

B

Yes, the soft part loud and the loud part soft, as Homer Simpson would say.

A

That's right. Yeah. Or maybe, maybe where he comes from, that's what everyone does. And I, I don't view lobbyists as generally a good thing. I could be wrong, but.

B

Well, the woman, the woman pushing for it. Yeah, she was a lobbyist. She's the owner of Atlas Government affairs and she says she's been fascinated by the issue, especially since a rash of reports in 2024 of objects over the skies of New Jersey. The reports of the drones and and unquote the government's inability to provide credible information about them causes lens caused lens to think of Vermont reporting and review system made sense. And then Lenz goes on to say, I'm certain not saying that it's aliens, but I do think having the conversation here in Vermont will begin to allow for it to be taken a bit more seriously.

Yes, yes. And then it begs the question, Troy, did you take money?

B

Well, snappily dressed gentleman.

Yes. He has incredible kind of handlebar mustache.

Yeah. And Christine, you have some UFO related entertainment news.

B

I do. If you're like me, and I know I am, I love to go to the movies. And it was funny. We reported on the Steven Spielberg film Disclosure Day, which is opening in June. But it looks like the launch pad for a year of UFO movies. There's been another a number of projects announced and a film site was joking. Well, we used to have superhero movie fatigue. Now are we going to have UFO movie fatigue?

A

Yeah, it seems, it seem. Does seem like everybody is jumping on the bandwagon now.

B

Yeah. Well, there's two projects that do not have names yet. First one I'm going to talk about is Scott Cooper's project. If the name seems familiar. He's kind of an it boy right now because he's got a movie out right now called Springsteen Deliver Me From Nowhere. I've seen some of his other movies like Antlers, which is a really good horror movie. But he's, he's said to be making a UFO movie, specifically a thriller about the Roswell Incident in 1947, where as the site says, if you believe it, a flying saucer crashed in the New Mexico desert, was recovered by the military and was covered up. He's going to write and direct. And Cooper has just closed a deal with 20th Century Studios. If it happens, it'll come out after disclosure. And also which has been announced, if you've seen Jurassic World, the director Colin Trevorrow is working on a movie about Area 51. They've both been announced it's going to be an Area 51 conspiracy thriller. It's going to be for Paramount Pictures. It has no title, it does have writers, the plot is under wraps. But the film is apparently set in the 1980s and follows a local Las Vegas TV news journalist who bro first broke the story of Area 51. So both of these have been announced. Not sure when they're coming out, but one thing we can expect in March is the film adaptation of a novel I just loved by Andy Weir called Project Hail Mary. And it was the same chap who wrote in the Martian. And it is, it's about a reluctant astronaut who basically has to put his life on the line to save the Earth from. I don't want to give too many spoilers, but something that could destroy the Earth, a lot of planets and he befriends an alien intelligence and they solve the problem together. And that's not a spoiler because I've seen the trailer and you do see a bit of the alien. So yeah, there's what, Bang, bang, bang. Four alien movies.

I know there's going to be lots, lots of them coming up. Now I have some news that I think really in the, the mainstream press has gone under the radar mainly and I guess there's so many things going on in the world now, it's hard to keep track of everything. But there is a space launch coming up of the Artemis 2 and it is a four man crew that is going to actually go to the moon. They're not going to land on the moon, but they're going to circle the moon and this will be the first time since Apollo 17 in 1972 when they went around the moon. That's the last time that anyone went around the moon. And a man crew, it's a four man crew made up of Reed Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen, who is a Canadian. And this is supposed to launch in approximately mid February. And you know, it's kind of interesting to see this happen again after so long. And there is going to be an Artemis 3 now it will actually land astronauts on the moon and that's going to be apparently in mid-2027.

Finally, we're going back.

Yes, yes. And it's a couple of things that really hit me because the name of the project is called Artemis and I don't know why. You know how something sticks in your brain. So whenever I hear the, when they say Artemis it takes me Back to the TV show in the 60s, the wild wild West.

I love that show. Yeah, Artemis Gordon.

A

That's right. And he was played by Ross Martin

B

and I had a huge crush on both of those guys. I love that show.

A

And Robert Conrad played James west and I did watch that show. So now I'm giving away my age and people are going to say, how old is this guy?

B

Well, and it's funny. Andy Weir, the guy that wrote the Martian and Project Hail Mary, his other. He does have a book out called Artemis about. It's been a while since I read it, but it's about a heist on the moon or something.

A

Yes, yes.

B

And it's great. I just can't remember the plot. But I went, oh, Artemis, like Andy Weir's novel.

A

And then how these weird factoids get stuck in your brain. So as I was thinking about this, you know, Artemis Gordon and James West, I thought to myself, I used to watch that on Friday nights. And I thought, is that just in some crazy thing that's not correct in my mind? So I actually looked it up. Yes, it played on Friday nights originally. That was the original run. So somehow I remembered that. Don't ask me how. And then it reminded me the whole thing of Artemis and going back to the moon. It reminded me of Apollo 11, which landed on the moon July 20, 1969, and that was Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. And I was a kid at this time and I thought, you know, I stayed up all night to watch that take off. Like, it does not have the same emotions now. I think for most people that it did back then, but I think it is kind of exciting, you know, the whole project.

B

Oh, and to backtrack the Artemis, when I said Andy Weir wrote a novel called Artemis in between the Martian and Project Hail Mary, Artemis is the name of the first city on the moon. Wow, I forgot where's the title come from? So I had to think for a minute. So there you go, circling back to Artemis and what you were saying.

A

I know, I know. So now we're going to give a shout out to a town or city where we have listeners. And this week it is the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, which has a population of 72,139. And Dartmouth is located right across Halifax Harbor. So Halifax and Dartmouth are right across, kind of facing each other, and it's kind of in the middle of Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia is a province in Canada and Dartmouth is on the east side of the island.

B

Yeah, I've. I've been there. It's one of my favorite places in the world. My oldest friend, who we've been friends since grade three, lives there and I love going to visit her do not get to make it that often, but it's a great, a great place to go. Wonderful restaurants and bakeries, which we'll talk of. And I'd like to give a shout out to Dartmouth Bookseller, the John W. Duell, who long term, Halifax and Dartmouth Bookseller. So shout out to one of our peeps there.

And of course, there are bakeries in Dartmouth. The bakery that I have picked out is called Delectable Desserts. And they look like they specialize in kind of cakes, cupcakes, that kind of thing. A few of them I picked out is they have. They make a black forest buttercream cake.

B

Oh, yum.

And then they make a cake called the Dark side, which is dark chocolate layer cake with dark chocolate truffle mousse topped with dark chocolate.

B

Oh, it sounds so good.

A

Yes. And I can tell you the pictures, I mean, the pictures look edible. So that's how great this stuff is. And they also make a mocha cheesecake.

B

Oh, yum. Never enough cheesecake.

A

That's right. And they make little cakes, little cakes about the size of a cupcake, which I've seen that from other bakeries since we've been doing this. And then once you've grabbed all of those goodies, you want to get your cup of coffee at the Coffee Street Cafe. And they have a tremendous amount of different kinds of coffees, of iced coffee, everything you could imagine. I just picked a few of them here. So they make a lavender latte, a Spanish latte and a tiramisu.

Oh, yum.

Now they have something else here. It really caught my attention. I've never had it before. They have something called saffron milk.

B

Saffron being the spice.

Oh, yeah.

B

Saffron being the yellow spice. That would be very tasty.

And they said their little blurb under it says, taste the rich and aromatic blend of saffron milk, a luxurious drink that warms your soul with its golden hug and delicate floral notes.

Oh, yum.

So if any of our listeners have ever had saffron milk before, maybe you could drop us a line and tell us what that's like. I've never, ever had that before. So we have to shift gears right now because we have a bit of sad news to pass along. And this is a friend of the show and that friend of Christine's, an RCMP officer, Greg Brass, has sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago on January 2nd. I was able to talk to him a couple of times and Christine had known him for a while. She's the One who introduced me. So I'm gonna let Christine tell you what it was like meeting him and what kind of a guy he was.

B

You know, you asked me, I think you asked me how long I knew Greg or when I had met him. I don't even remember because he had been coming into the bookstore for decades and we mostly started talking. He was a big reader of Louis l' Amour books, so we always talked about Lemours. He had a collection. I don't even remember a time when Greg was not coming into the store, to be honest. And I've been there a long time. Even if he wasn't coming in for books, he'd stop in and say hi when he was in town. I met his wife Marilyn, who is a lovely woman. And I know he had lots of kids and lots of grandchildren. And he, he actually, he, he had a grandchild named Maximus.

Wow.

B

Who I believe I met, they completely forgot about until I saw the obit. And I went, oh yeah, he's got a big family. Yeah, he was a wonderful guy, a sweetheart to talk to. I always enjoyed talking to him and I was very sad to have to tell you. He passed away.

A

Yes. And he was, he was born in the Fort Qu' Appelle Saskatchewan Hospital in 1939. Something that really shocked me because I didn't know this at all. He was actually a member of the Papikasis Cree nation. So he was a First nations person. And he worked at the Fort qu' Appelle detachment. And that is where when I, when Christine had introduced me to him, I had phoned him a couple of times over about an eight or nine month period. And that is where we started to talk about the things he was connected with, with UFOs. So I don't know if we have some long term listeners with us, but I think it was season two. Don't quote me on that. But we did a show called the Star Blanket Encounter and it was about many, at least I think four RCMP officers had witnessed a very large UFO at very close distance along with lots of first nations people and they were all from the Fort qu' Appelle detachment. So when I'd first spoken to Greg, he mentioned that he knew all those people that were in the report. He didn't work that night, but he had definitely heard about that because it was the talk of the detachment for a while. And he proceeded to tell me there was two other stories he knew of from the detachment he worked at, which we're going to tell you now. And I, I thought about this, about talking about this. So our plan, or my plan was always to interview him and have him on the show and talk to everybody so you could hear him directly. He was always a little bit not well, that's what I felt. And I was kind of waiting for him to get better, but that just was never going to happen. And then I thought about telling these stories because now it's just me telling you what he told me and there's no one. He told us one of the stories. He told the same story to Christine, but the last story. It's just my word now. And I thought, you know what, I'm going to say it anyways. And to the listeners, I have no way to prove this to you right now. I have no documentation. I just have my phone call with Greg in my memory. But I will mention it anyways because it is a significant sighting. So the story he told me and Christine was when he was working out of the Fort qu' Appelle detachment. And this would have been in the, in the mid-70s. He was in a two man patrol car at night. And this was in the Fort qu' Appelle area. They saw something hovering over a lake and both of the officers drove to the lake to see what was happening and they were both stunned to see a UFO hovering, you know, 30, 40ft off the water. And to them it was, the craft was glowing and it looked like a shaft kind of, of light, but it looked more like there was water coming up to the craft and they couldn't believe what they're seeing, of course, and that I have looked for the report of that and I have not found it yet. But that doesn't mean anything because there's 16,000 of these reports that we know of. And then the last story that he told me, and I really tried to pin him down on the year this happened in more details, but he was fuzzy on so many elements of it. I have to tell the listeners it's a very, very dramatic story. Really unbelievable, really. He said in the same time frame, around the mid-70s, he was at the Fort Quappell detachment. And a guy that was on his shift, who he doesn't recall what his name was, came into the detachment around midnight or 1am he said the man's face was white and he had never seen him look so upset. And he, the guy said, let me sit next to you and tell you what just happened to me. And so what had happened? They had got a call and he had to go out by himself in a patrol car. The Person said, there's a UFO in my backyard. I mean, that sounds like the beginning of a joke, but apparently this really happened. He got to the house, it's a rural area. And he pulls up the driveway. He can see there's some bright light coming from behind the house. He opens the patrol car door, he steps out, and as he's starting to walk around the door, he can see now it's a hovering craft behind the house. And so this craft is about 100ft away, maybe 20ft off the ground. The craft is about 50 or 60ft wide. It's glowing. It's a typical saucer shape with a dome in the middle. So as he's standing there looking at this, he actually questioned his. His mind because he. It just seemed unbelievable what he was seeing. And as he was thinking this, a door slid open on the dome, and a being walked out and walked to the edge of the craft as it's hovering and stared at him for about 30 seconds.

Oh, man.

A

And I want to tell you, if anything is going to make the blood drain from your face, I'm gonna say that would be it. And so after the 30 seconds, which he really was believing he'd lost his mind, the being walked back into the open door, the door closed, and the craft shot up and into so far into the sky it was appeared like a star within seconds. And I tried to get as much information out of Greg that I could, but he was fuzzy on exactly what year that was. But he said he would never forget the fellow officer telling him about it and how he appeared that night. And like I said, because Greg has now passed away, I have nothing to back up that story which I just told you. So you either have to believe that Craig said it and believe that I have told you what Craig said to me. I don't have any other proof of it, but it's sad that he has passed away. You can tell that his family loved him. He was an amazing part of the community. He did a lot of things, which we don't have time to go over on the show, but he was involved in a lot of community things. And we had the. As a podcast, we have planted a tree in his honor, and hopefully that tree will grow very tall and very old. And I just want to send our condolences to his family, which he has a large family, and to all of his family and friends and really to thank him for his service to Canada. As longtime listeners know, I've interviewed a lot of retired Mounties now and an incredible group of men and women and their stories of what they did, even, you know, the non UFO parts of the stories, what, how they looked after northern communities and things like that. It just made me pause and think. That is really, truly remarkable. So Christine and I both wish that Greg Brass will rest in power.

Alert. The Canadian military operates a small base that is located 500 miles south of the North Pole. Since 1950, first as a weather station and then as a signals intelligence collection base, Canadian Forces Station Alert has stood on guard and is the northern most continuously inhabited place on Earth. In the early 2000s, UFO researchers Michael Ryan contacted a man who had worked at the base and had a website where others who had worked there could reminisce about their time spent in such a remote place. When the conversation turned to UFOs, the man inadvertently mentioned a significant UFO encounter at the base in the mid-90s. The man quickly realized he had said too much and told Michael Ryan to not never contact him again. Within 24 hours, the man had deleted his website from the Internet. What happened at Canadian Forces Base alert in the mid-90s? What kind of UFO encounter would cause someone to be so afraid of the information getting out that they would delete their website? There is a person or persons out there that know what happened. Someone knows the truth. What kind of encounter happened between the UFO and the base and its personnel? Do you know?

My next guest is Tabby Rideout in northern Maine in the summer of 1973, Tabby and her family had a series of very interesting UFO encounters. Tabby, welcome to the podcast.

Hi, thanks for having me.

A

Now, I guess the first question I want to ask, or actually I'm going to preface this by saying that to give, I want to give our listeners kind of a. An audio visualization of where all this happened. So I'm going to mention that this happened in northern Maine and Maine. So when you always see the map of the US there's this always point in the upper right hand side, but that is Maine is on the two northern sides are actually encompassed by the province Canadian province of Quebec and the other side is the Canadian province of New Brunswick. So northern Maine is where this happened. So Tabby, I wonder if you could tell me this happened in the town of Fort Fairfield, Maine. Can you describe what it was like growing up in Fort Fairfield?

C

Fort Fairfield is a farming community. So there was a lot of potato farmers. A small town, border town to Canada, New Brunswick, where we lived. We weren't really that far from Loring Air force base, our home. So we were situated probably, I don't know, three miles out of town. So we were considered out in the country. And we had. Our home had a nice big front porch on it which led out to the driveway. And we had two. We had like the front lawn that was in the front of the house. We had a U shaped driveway. So within that U shape, there was another big patch of lawn surrounded by pretty much potato fields. So we're talking the area itself is pretty much open. Not a lot of trees, you know, like on the property per se. But the potato fields would be divided by what we'd call a line fence, which would be like a line of trees, you know, at the end of each field.

A

And where was your. Where would your closest neighbor be?

C

We had neighbors on each side, so I would say maybe a quarter of a mile up the road from us. Because it would be separated by potato fields.

A

Yeah. And if you could describe your. Because you had multiple encounters, what was the first encounter? If you could tell us about roughly the month or if you remember the day and the year and who you were with, that kind of thing.

C

Well, speaking with my sister, I think we've got it narrowed down to 1973 and definitely in the summer, because her and I were playing out on the lawn. We played this game called Airplane. She'd lay on her back with her hands and feet up in the air, and I would balance my belly on her feet, you know, and then try to straighten out like your arms, like you're flying. Right. So it was a balancing game and

you had to really trust your sister.

C

Well, she was really good at it because, you know, she was. She's six years older than me. So let's say if I was six years old at the time, she would have been 12.

A

Yeah.

C

So inevitably, you know, you'd fall over. So at this particular point, I kind of fell over. And we're both on our backs looking up at the sky and we're laughing and there was this great. I. I can't. As a child, it's hard to describe how big it was. It was way bigger than our house, I can say that. And it was just above us and no sound, this huge ship. And it was an odd color, almost maybe similar color to a cloud with some little gray in it. And. But what was really there was no sound coming from it.

A

And did it have like. Was it well defined, like the shape?

C

Yes, it was like a saucer. Okay, saucer shape again. When I spotted it, I pointed it to my sister. My sister wasn't quite looking up in that direction. And I was excited, you know, for as young as I was, I wasn't scared. I wanted to stay there and look at it. And of course, my sister, being older, she immediately was. She got scared, and she said, we have to go in the house now. And she grabbed me by the wrist and just was dragging me across the lawn. And I remember hitting, you know, the gravel part of the driveway because it was cutting into my knees. She was pulling me so hard. I finally got my feet up underneath me. And we're running to the house, which has the front porch, and it's a big one, and can see the steps coming closer and closer to me. And then that's it. That's all I remember.

So you don't actually remember going into the house?

C

No, no. And interesting enough, the way my family is, we talk about everything and over and over and over again, you know, significant events, whether it was good or bad. That memory, in my mind, I had growing up, and I would sit numerous times and I would try to remember past that point of, did I actually get on the stairs? Why don't I remember? Then eventually it morphed into, did I dream this? Did this actually happen? And the other strange thing about this, too, like I said, is that our family talked about it. My sister and I did not talk about this at all. And it wasn't until I, like, 13 years later, I called her. She was living in Bangor, Maine, at that time. And I just came right out and I asked her, I said, do you remember this happening? She went, oh, my God, yes. And we discussed it point by point. She remembered almost exactly everything that I remembered. And then my final question to her was, sue, do you remember? Did we actually go in the house? And sue goes, I don't remember. So at that point, my parents were still alive. So I questioned my mom and my dad. Did sue and I come into the house crying or upset or telling you that there was a ufo? Their answer was no? Asked my oldest sister. My oldest sister, she's 12 years older than me. She has no memory of that. And nor did my brother, who is eight years older than me. So that's the point where that memory stops.

A

Can I ask you a question here? So from the point where you were just about to go up the steps, from that point forward, you don't have any memory?

C

There is none.

A

And are you saying that for the next 13 years, you and your sister never discussed that? Like, it never?

C

That's correct. That's correct.

A

Wow, that's.

C

It's just very strange. That in itself, aside from what we've witnessed.

A

Do you.

C

We never talked about it.

A

Do you have. I don't know if you'd be able to remember this, but the object, would you say it was just slightly above, like, treetop level or higher, or.

C

I would say a little bit higher than treetop. A little bit higher. Again, as a kid, it's hard to judge the distance or, you know, size. It's not like it was obliterating sun, because it wasn't. It was. I can tell you, it was a beautiful, crystal clear, blue day, beautiful weather, and there that was.

A

Do you remember the nest? Again, it might be hard to recall this kind of information, but around the craft, did you ever see any kind of heat waves? Like, was anything shimmering?

Yes.

C

Yes, there was. There was. Of course, for me, when I think about would look like it was kind of, like hazy, a little bit around the edge. It seems, though, in my memory, there was a flashing light, possibly, and. And I've asked my sister this. I said, did you see the little windows? And she said, yes. So there were, like, little windows or little something and up towards the top of it.

A

And if you can recall, how long did you see the object before you got to the porch? Where then you don't remember?

C

Well, for the time, I think I'm gonna say we. I got to actually look at it for maybe 10, 15 seconds before my sister started dragging me across the way, you know, to get into the house. And again, I was not afraid. I was like. Like, this is magic, you know, I wanted to really look at it. If I had been there alone, I probably would have stayed there just staring at it, but I wasn't. So. And my sister was like, this isn't. This is unsafe, you know, or first instinct was to, we need to get out of here now.

A

Also, and this might be, you know, too long ago to remember, but around that time, do you remember being sick or having any. Anything unusual illness or anything around that time?

C

Interesting enough, this was something else that my sister and I were discussing. Going into that winter, I developed severe nosebleeds. Severe. My nose would bleed continuously. Was taken to the doctor and said I had sinus problems, which I'd never had before. And I was put on, you know, an antibiotic and some sort of medication. I don't know, but it just seemed like after that one winter was really bad with nosebleeds. And then it just stopped. I don't know if there's Any connection to there? Yes, but. Yeah, because I. I didn't have it again, you know, in my life. That severe.

A

Now, you mentioned you also had other sightings and your family had other sightings. If you could describe those to us.

C

The next time we saw. With my family, it was at night. I had already. I was already in bed. I was woken up because I heard my family downstairs in the living room. They were being quite loud. And I came down the stairs and looking. The only way I could look out the living room windows was. Was if I was on the stairs because they were much higher up, you know, on. In the house. And so I'm sitting on the stairs and they're all. We had two big windows in our living room, which would have been facing north towards the base, towards limestone. And there was these two lights, globe lights, and they were like crossing back and forth in front of each other and just circling. I mean, it was. And of course, at my age, and I think. Why I say I think it was in March or April was because in my mind, I thought it was the Easter Bunny. Seriously. And so what was strange from my perspective as a child is I'm excited, you know, because I'm thinking it's something that it's not. And my parents and my siblings are getting very upset because the balls of light kept coming closer to the house. And then they'd swoop back out. And my. My sister sue, she started to cry. And again, like I said, she's six years older than me, so she'd be 12, 11. 12 years old. Mom said, okay, I'm like, we're going to go upstairs. So she took grab sue, and of course, I ended up getting scooped up along the way, coming up the stairs. And we went into our bedroom that we shared. Sue and I had twin beds, one on each side of the room. Sue's bed was facing out towards the road, so it had been facing east. And there was two large windows on her side of the room. So we sat down on the bed with mom, and she had her arms around both sue and I on each side. And Sue Ann was really crying hard. And then that light came up right up to the house, blinding. It just. It filled the room. You could not open your eyes. It was so bright. And again, talking with my sister about this, I said the last thing I remember was sue screaming. And I don't remember anything after that.

Now, how. How long ago did this happen? From the first time that you saw them outside?

C

Okay. So the first time we saw them was in this that summer. So I'm going to say the following spring could have been March or April of 74, possibly, so six to eight months.

A

And if you can remember these, the two lights, do you know roughly how big they would have been, like, from

C

my perspective, because they were, like I said, you know, about a quarter mile down the road was our neighbors. So the lights were above their house. I could not tell you. To me, they, as an adult, thinking back, they could have possibly looked like a headlight. Do you know?

A

Yes. And then these lights came closer and closer.

C

Yeah, they came right up into the. Right. It seemed like right into our bedroom.

A

Wow. Wow.

C

Yeah.

A

And that's when you said the light was just blinding.

C

Like, it was blinding. Couldn't open your eyes. She screamed, and that's all that her. And I can remember after that. Like, no memory after that.

A

Now, where were your parents and your brother at that point?

C

Well, mom was upstairs in our bedroom with us with sue and I. So my brother and my sister and my dad were downstairs in the living room.

A

But they were aware of the objects.

C

They were watching them as well? Yes. Yeah.

A

So when you were in the bedroom, you were in the bedroom with your mom?

C

Yeah, my sister and I. She took us upstairs primarily to get sue to calm down because sue was really scared. And just we're sitting on the bed and we're on each side of Mom. She's got her arms around each of us, you know, kind of comforting. I wasn't crying. I wasn't doing anything. You know, when that light came into the. You know, shown into the bedroom, it was, like, so blinding. And like I said, and sue screamed, and then nothing.

And there was no sound.

C

No. No sound.

A

And what. What time of the day was this?

C

This would have been at night. At night, yeah. Because I had. Was already to bed. So I don't know if this was, like, close to midnight.

A

Oh, okay.

C

It was dark. It was dark out, and there was still snow on the ground.

A

Yeah. Now, did your mom or your sister or your parents ever talk about that event ever again after that?

C

No. It wasn't until I had the conversation with my sister, 13 years later, you know, of asking, do you remember this? You know, because you can drive yourself crazy running these events through your mind, like, did this really happen or did I dream this? And I don't know why I. That's the other thing. It's like, why didn't I question, you know, the rest of my family about these things? It's not like we weren't. We were never told you can't talk about this because that's not who my parents, my family were. You know, we talked very openly about a lot of things, so I don't know. It's just weird.

A

So these. So what happened the second time that was never talked about, like, at family gatherings or someone would bring it up?

C

Not to my knowledge. Okay. Now, my parents, they could have possibly talked about it with friends and family when I wasn't there. You know, it's hard to say. I just know that my sister and I never talked about it.

A

And what did your. What did your parents do at that

C

time, as far as, like, was your

A

mom, like, a homemaker or.

C

Oh, both my parents worked. Trying to remember. Oh, at that time, my. My parents owned a restaurant. We had a pizzeria.

A

Okay.

C

Downtown in Fort Fairfield. Adam's Pizza. That's right. We had the restaurant. Yes. So they were both running the restaurant at that time. So dad also had a small bar that was on the opposite side of the restaurant.

A

And what was it called?

C

Adam's Pizza.

A

Oh, okay. And then you mentioned your parents had sightings of unusual things also.

C

Yes, they did. This was something that they talked a lot about. The best that they could describe it was what they called. And this would be at night, and it happened quite a lot. They would see a person or what looked like a person glowing, walking down the road. My dad said, like an aluminum man. You know, like he was wrapped in aluminum. Whenever a car would come up over the knoll with, you know, your. The high beams or whatever, this person or whatever it was would disappear and then after the car would pass, would reappear. They witnessed that a lot and would have.

A

That. Would that have been in the similar.

C

Same time frame?

A

Yes, so in the mid. Kind of 70s.

C

Yes.

A

And do you recall. This might have been hard for you to recall as a child, but do you recall if your parents ever told anybody, like, did they ever report it to the police or talk to neighbors about it or that kind? It.

C

My sister told me that mom and dad did talk to a lot of people about it, and. But then they stopped talking about it because we. I guess we were considered the weird family on Center Limestone Road, which I did not know that. My sister just told me that a couple weeks ago, and I. I just found it very funny, so. Well, of course, because like I said, my family was very open about, you know, storytelling and talking about specific events and, you know, they weren't. Were not shy people, in other words. So, yes, the mom and dad told a lot of People which apparently they did not believe them.

A

And did you ever have, after all this, do you. Have you ever had any other unusual kind of events in your life, like something that just didn't fit what would happen normally?

C

When I got married and we're talking about the same road center Limestone Road in Fort Fairfield, my husband at the time, we had bought an old farm down in the valley, who's a potato farmer. And this farm was originally owned by a couple. Their. Their last name was Good. So after they passed, the farm went to another family, and then we bought the farm from this other family. A lot of weird things happened at that house. The house was haunted, in other words.

A

And what years were that, roughly?

C

This would have been 1987 to 1998, when we finally sold and moved.

A

So you would just have a lot of odd, kind of like ghost kind of things.

C

Yes. Yeah. Yeah. There was two going to say apparitions that were there. One was a. I'm told that it was because she was. As a woman, but she was white, like white smoke. And you would see her. Even my young son at the time saw her in his room, coming out of his room, going into my room. And then there was another one that was mischievous, I guess, kind of nasty. That caused a lot of havoc, I would say. And the people that currently own it now, they. I'll ask if you had any incidences and they're like, don't want to talk about it. So it's kind of infamous in Fort Fairfield, that, that house. But yeah, I endured that for 10 years and I said, I've had enough, you know.

A

So are your. Are your parents still with us?

C

No, my mom passed in 1997 and my dad passed in 2007.

A

And so do you, you and your sister and. Or your brother, and I'm going to say the last 10 years or something like that. Do you talk about these UFO events every now again, or you just don't really talk?

B

Yeah, we do.

C

My sister sue and I, because we were the ones that were together, you know, when, when these specific events happened. I've talked with my oldest sister about it. Penda recalls. My older sister's name is Penda, by the way. My brother's name is Jeff. My brother doesn't really remember too much. Penda remembers the lights that. But again, she was downstairs with dad and Jeff. She wasn't upstairs with sue and I and mom, so she can't. She doesn't recall that, but sue and I do, and mom did too, because, yes, we did talk to mom about

it and she would remember the lights, that kind of thing.

C

Yes, she did. Mom remembered it. But again, the recollection only goes to a certain point and then you don't remember anything. My sister and I've also often said, sue and I have said, I wonder if we could get hypnotized, if maybe we could see beyond that point. And then we think about it going, I don't know if I want to know, you know, but it can be very frustrating because you can't see beyond what happened. You know, it's just very strange.

Here are the Canadian civil aviation anomalies for the week of January 12 to January 16, 2026. On January 12, an Air Canada Rouge Airbus flying from Tampa International Airport to Montreal International Airport reported encountering a remotely piloted aircraft system at 3,000ft and nine nautical miles on final approach for Runway 24R. Also on January 12 over New Brunswick during the night time at 21:36 Zulu time, flight number RZ0323 reported a long and metallic gray object at approximately FL320. On January 13, a flight POE36 flying over Ontario during the daytime reported a weather balloon at 12,500ft in the vicinity of Buxom. Also on January 13, a WestJet Boeing aircraft flying from Vancouver International Airport to Edmonton International Airport reported the aircraft was struck by lightning at approximately 10,000ft and 17 miles northeast of Vancouver International Airport. There was no impact on operations and all flights proceeded to their destinations without further incident.
